Could Green Arrow fit in a rumored Justice League movie? Stephen Amell certainly thinks so. Though a Justice League film hasn’t been announced, it seems likely with the recent Man of Steel success, Amell is desperate to get involved in the action, according to MTV.
Warner Brothers most likely is very focused on making a Justice League movie happen, but at this point its unknown if Green Arrow would be on the short list of characters to be involved. Unfortunately, Green Arrow isn’t one of the biggest names in DC Comics, and is relatively unknown compared to the larger superheroes.
Amell believes Green Arrow is ready for a bigger role in film, although he may be biased as he plays Oliver Queen in Arrow. Amell pointed to the success of turning Iron Man into a superstar through his film series, leading to him headlining The Avengers film.
Iron Man wasn’t one of the premier Marvel Comics characters, but now is well-known because of the character’s success. Still, there is a difference between a successful series on The CW and one of the largest blockbuster trilogies in recent memory. The Green Arrow must continue to be established through Arrow and other ways in order to build the character’s reputation.
Warner Brothers would be foolish not to consider an Arrow involvement in a potential Justice League film, particularly if the series success keeps up. Any crossover likely wouldn’t play a main role in the film, but it could have its benefits.
Warner Brothers may be interested to see how the Marvel Cinematic Universe proceeds with a Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series. It is creating significant buzz in the Marvel world, with many fans ecstatic for the return of Agent Phil Coulson in the series. If the movie/tv integration works for Marvel, Warner Brothers may be interested in doing the same.
